Trade Mark Registration fees reduced
It is now considerably less expensive to protect your brands and trade marks in Europe.
As from 01 May, Community Trade Mark (CTM) application and registration fees have been replaced with a single official fee, which is significantly lower than the old fees. The new single fee represents a reduction of 40% in the official fees associated with the filing and registration of a CTM.
We are also pleased to advise that a further fee reduction can be obtained by filing CTM applications online, which we have adopted as our standard filing procedure. The cost for us to prepare and file a CTM application in up to 3 classes is currently £1560, including the new official fee of £911.
It is also possible to obtain a CTM via a Madrid Protocol application and the official fee to designate the EU in a Madrid application has been similarly reduced, to £881.
The new fee structure applies to all CTM applications filed from 01 May 2009 and to pending CTM applications which had not yet received an invitation to pay the registration fee at that date.
