INTA delegates invited to join memorable Alcatraz trip
Chapman Molony Director Huw Evans will be in San Francisco in May, attending the International Trade Marks Association (INTA) conference. He is also organising an informal trip to the historic island prison of Alcatraz in San Francisco Bay and would like to invite other conference delegates to join him on what promises to be a memorable excursion.
“Alcatraz is an essential place to visit while in San Francisco and, being so close to the conference venue, makes for an ideal break from all those receptions and meetings,” says Huw. “Joining the ‘early bird’ tour at 9am on Wednesday 18 May means that we can be back in the city in time for lunch receptions and the afternoon conference programme.”
Tickets to visit the island (including the short ferry crossing) frequently sell out up to a week in advance and it is often impossible to just go on the day, so advance purchase is recommended. Tickets for the 9am departure on Wednesday 18 May cost USD26 and are available online from Alcatraz Cruises LLC – www.alcatrazcruises.com – the sole tour company under contract with the US National Park Service.
Visitors to Alcatraz can stay as long as they like, but Huw suggests allowing about 2.5 hours for the outward ferry crossing, taking the Cellhouse audio tour, exploring the rest of the island and its historic exhibits, and returning to the mainland.
“We’ve currently got people coming from the US, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Denmark, Croatia, Nicaragua, Japan, India, Singapore, Anguilla and Turkey,” says Huw. “If you’re interested, we’ll look forward to seeing you at Pier 33 in good time before the boat departs at 9am on Wednesday 18 May.”
If you would like to join Huw for this Alcatraz excursion, please make your own booking and then email huw@chapmanmolony.com to let him know to expect you.
