EPO Authorisation

Name and address

Name(s) and address(es) of the party or parties giving the authorisation and the Country in which his (their) residence or principal place of business is located, should be given as follows:

Names of individuals should be given as: family name followed by first name(s). Names of legal entities, as well as companies considered to be legal entities by reason of the legislation to which they are subject, shall be indicated by their official designations.

Addresses shall be indicated in such a way as to satisfy the customary requirements for prompt postal delivery at the indicated address.

The address should contain the following:

  • Building or house number
  • Street
  • City and postal/zip code
  • Country

Signature

The date of signature should be given.

The authorisation must be signed by the person giving the authorisation, and in the case of a company by the person/s having the power to sign. The person/s signing must indicate their position within the company. The name of the person signing must be indicated legibly, such as by typing it in beside the signature.

No certification of signatures or any other formality is required.

OHIM General Authorisation

Name and address

The name of the person giving the authorisation should be indicated as follows: the full name of the company; or the surname followed by the first name (if an individual person).

The address should contain the following:

  • Building or house number
  • Street
  • City and postal/zip code
  • Country
  • Telephone number including country code
  • Fax number including country code

If several people give the authorisation, such as when the same mark or design is owned by more than one person, the names and addresses of each person must be given. If the space is insufficient, attachments or several forms should be used.

Signature

The place and date of signature should be given.

The authorisation must be signed by the person giving the authorisation, and in the case of a company by the person/s having the power to sign. The person/s signing must indicate their position within the company. The name of the person signing must be indicated legibly, such as by typing it in the space provided.

No certification of signatures or any other formality is required. A seal may be affixed.
