Intellectual Property (IP) rights can be some of the most valuable assets owned by a company, but many companies are not aware of the IP rights that exist within their business. As a result they could be overlooking potential sources of revenue for the business, protection for their products or services, and powerful marketing tools.
Intellectual Property exists within every business, and to help you identify the IP within your business we provide Intellectual Property Audits. The IP Audit involves several stages, including:
- One of our attorneys will visit your business and review your products or services with you, to identify the IP assets within your business.
- We check whether your IP assets are already protected, and that the protection is up to date - it can quite often happen that a companys records are not up to date, and it loses track of the patents/registered trade marks/registered designs that it owns.
- We prepare a report summarising the IP assets identified and advising on whether you should consider seeking formal protection of those IP assets, through patent, trade mark or registered design applications, and how you might better exploit your IP assets.
We can also help you to check that you are free to exploit your Intellectual Property, by carrying out patent and trade mark freedom to use searches |
