Due to our continued growth we are delighted to announce that Dr Mark Thurston joined us in our Leamington Spa office on 1st May 2008.  Mark is a UK Chartered Patent Attorney and holds a degree in Physics and Astrophysics and a PhD in Observational and Theoretical Astrophysics, from Birmingham University.  Mark joined the patent profession in 2002, with a large private practice firm of patent attorneys, prior to which he spent several years working as a software engineer in industry...

IP Refresher Seminar

'Patent Attorneys' - not 'Patent Agents'

Following approval from the Privy Council, The Chartered Institute of Patent Agents (the professional body representing patent agents in the UK), has, after 124 years, changed its name to The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA). The change brings the UK into line with Europe and the rest of the world and means that all the professional staff at Chapman Molony now have the title ‘patent attorneys’ (as well as being European patent and trade mark attorneys).
